About The Position

American Endovascular is seeking a full-time Medical Insurance Authorization Specialist. This role is responsible for verifying patient insurance eligibility, obtaining necessary authorizations, and communicating status and needs with staff and physicians.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Customer Service experience
  • Authorizations experience
  • 1 year of medical authorizations experience

Responsibilities

  • Complete detailed eligibility, benefit, and pre-certification/authorization information to ensure accurate claims.
  • Work directly with multiple insurance websites to obtain benefits and authorizations for procedures performed in both an office setting and an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).
  • Adhere to the guidelines set forth in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Explain insurance coverages and requirements for precertification/preauthorization, as applicable.
  • Provide appropriate forms to billing and other departments.
  • Verify insurance benefits assigned to the organization to determine if insurance coverage meets appropriate standards.
  • Correspond with patients to acquire required authorizations and assignments of benefits.
  • Work with appropriate sources to coordinate precertification requirements with contractual third parties.
