About The Position

Performs electrocardiographs and other related examinations for patients as directed according to established standards and practices.

Requirements

• One-year certificate from college or technical school; or one and one-half (1 ½ ) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of the circulatory system related to cardiac symptoms of exercise and the ability to recognize cardiac emergencies that occur due to exercise testing, ECG testing, Ambulatory Blood Pressure monitoring, Holter monitoring, and device testing.
• Knowledge of the nervous system related to neurologic systems, abnormal changes during hyperventilation and photic stimulation, the ability to recognize cardiac and seizure emergencies that may occur during the EEG tracing.
• Knowledge of International 10-20 EEG lead placement for accuracy of EEG readings on adults, pediatrics, and neonates, applying scalp electrodes, make EEG tracings to indicate outside disturbances, awake, drowsy, and sleep periods.
• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) within sixty (60) days of hire and maintain throughout employment.
• The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
• Must meet and maintain periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.
• Know Internet software.
