About The Position

This position is responsible for providing administrative support to managers of Medical Information Management by conducting audits of medical records, conducting quality audits of departmental functions, responding to board certification requests and data requests from providers, and other projects and tasks required to support departmental operational functions and reporting requirements. Responsible for auditing medical records to ensure compliance with organizational, state and federal regulatory requirements. Responsible for conducting quality audits on Medical Information Management tasks to identify compliance with departmental quality standards. Creates and monitors audit results and shares with management team and external customers as directed by management team. Responsible for forms management, including but not limited to implementation of new and revised forms, partnering with forms vendor, maintaining forms on internal and external sites, communicating updates to key stakeholders, and maintaining forms standards for the organization. Participates and contributes to downtime procedure team to ensure organization is prepared for downtime processes. Collaborates with various departments on role responsibilities and special projects as assigned, including but not limited to Risk Management, Compliance and Integrity, Accreditation, Information Technology, clinical teams, and MIM Operations to monitor the quality and content of the Legal Medical Record, identifying opportunities and associated countermeasures for implementation. Conducts research on current rules & regulations and standards for medical record content.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 4 years of relevant experience required.
  • One (1) to three (3) years Health Information Management experience is required.
  • Requires diplomacy and tact when analyzing, investigating, developing, and reporting results.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification or vocational training may be required.
  • Associate degree in relevant field may be preferred.
  • 6 or more years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Credentialed as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities
