About The Position

Global Support and Development is seeking to hire a remote Information Analyst within our Information and Awareness Team. The position is full-time, fixed-term. The assignment will end on November 28, 2025. The Information Analyst is a critical contributor, and will be responsible for collecting and processing data as well as providing high quality analysis and information on GSD Areas of operations and its context. The Information Analyst engages with internal stakeholders and external partners to develop a strong understanding of their reporting, information, and product needs. Reporting to the Information Manager, the Information Analyst will create information products, including situation reports and information briefs, to benefit GSD and partner organizations. The Information Analyst will also support the team in ensuring information gathering and analysis are completed with the highest degree of accuracy and quality, to include developing and socializing key project artifacts and knowledge management.

Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years of relevant work experience with a specific focus on either Carribean, Latin America or Pacific and context;
  • Proven experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and in producing high-quality analytical writing, such as reports, analysis documents, and briefings.
  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, international development, or related field; or An equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
  • Strong analytical writing skills, with demonstrated experience in drafting clear, insightful, and structured reports and documents;
  • Strong prior experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis;
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities;
  • Effective communication skills to present and advocate for data, analysis, visualization concepts, and data quality practices to GSD staff and partners;
  • Ability to obtain necessary travel documents and fulfill any other travel requirements (including an active passport, visa requirements, vaccinations, etc.);

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in emergency humanitarian responses preferred.
  • Experience in training or capacity building related to data collection, analysis, or reporting strongly desired;
  • Understanding of disaster management and humanitarian response concepts and approaches (preferred); and
  • Written and verbal proficiency in Spanish and/or French is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on GSD areas of operation (Caribbean, Latin America, and South Pacific) and context, keeping a pulse on natural hazards, changing dynamics, and humanitarian needs; tracking emerging trends and hazards to inform organizational priorities and strategic decisions;
  • Collaborate with other departments to design, refine, and implement rapid damage, operational, and needs assessments for use during emergency response operations;
  • Support training of GSD staff on use of rapid assessments.
  • Synthesize and analyze assessment findings to support decision making by GSD leadership during responses.
  • Communicate data findings effectively, using both written and visual formats, to influence decision-making and support disaster preparedness and response initiatives;
  • Develop key documentation, reports, and other information products, both routine and as requested by internal and external stakeholders;
  • Support assessment activities, provide advice on assessment design to ensure data quality, and manage data collection and analysis platforms and tools such as ArcGIS Survey123 and FieldMaps;
  • Support ad hoc data requests within GSD’s existing standard operating procedures and best practices;
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders as needed;
  • Provide information for daily briefings during deployments and engagements;
  • Provide informational support within GSD’s Operations Room during a disaster response, as needed;
  • Prompt and action GSD’s core values of accountability, humility, and integrity in all work;
  • Promote good stewardship of financial and other resources to achieve maximum benefit to those impacted by disaster or at risk of impact; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
