About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Medical Front Office Coordinator for a well-established ophthalmology practice in Tampa, FL. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical front office operations, particularly in an eye care setting. As the Front Office Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the front desk, supporting both patients and staff to create a positive experience from check-in to check-out. This ophthalmology practice values its team and is committed to providing a supportive and rewarding work environment.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of medical front office experience, preferably in an ophthalmology or eye care setting.
  • Experience with insurance verification and scheduling systems required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug and background check as part of the hiring process.
  • Participate in a skills assessment as part of the hiring process.
  • Availability to work Saturdays from 9 AM to 2 PM as part of the regular schedule.
  • Flexibility to follow the scheduling provided two weeks in advance and respond to last-minute changes as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily front office operations, including patient check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification.
  • Serve as a point of contact for patient inquiries and concerns, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
  • Manage patient records and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to optimize patient flow and ensure a seamless experience.
  • Order office supplies to keep the front desk running efficiently.
