Medical Front Desk Receptionist - Float

About The Position

In this role, you will be responsible for the daily opening and closing procedures of the office. You will welcome all patients and visitors by greeting them in a pleasant, professional manner, and assist in comforting patients and maintaining the reception area. You will answer telephones, respond to inquiries, resolve issues, and schedule patient appointments. You will collect co-pays and balance total finances of the office on a daily basis. You will assist patients with the completion of all necessary forms and documentation, and build and maintain patient records through the use of the practice EMR system. You will build, monitor, and maintain physician schedules according to suggested scheduling rubrics. You will also assist with the daily distribution of quality assurance surveys and prevention screenings, and monitor and respond to incoming messages from Care Team inboxes in collaboration with the nurse. You will monitor daily visit lists to ensure all patients who require appointments are scheduled appropriately. You will protect patient privacy by adhering to the HIPAA confidentiality guidelines. You will contribute to a team effort by smoothly transitioning into other related daily roles, as necessary. You will maintain daily operations of the office by following standard policies and procedures and perform tasks as assigned for special projects. Must be available to float to our Riverhead, East Moriches, Wading River, Rocky Point, Mt. Sinai, & Port Jefferson NYH offices.

Requirements

  • High School diploma with at least 2 years of patient facing reception experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to accept direction and work within a team concept
  • Strong customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 1yr of an EMR experience-Preferred
  • Bilingual English and Spanish (preferred)
