About The Position

Saratoga Medical is seeking a Medical Expert Witness with a PhD to provide medical-expert services and medical reviewer/case management support for the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) and Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program (CICP). This is an on-demand contract opportunity with no fixed weekly schedule. The role involves preparing written case reviews, providing expert testimony, and supporting legal and medical evaluation efforts under the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. Workload and hours will vary according to HRSA/DOJ litigation case requirements.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree from a postsecondary institution accredited by accrediting agencies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or an equivalent degree from a foreign postsecondary institution that provides education equivalent to accredited schools in the United States.
  • Current affiliation with a U.S. academic medical center.
  • Expertise, either clinical or research-related, in one or more of the following fields, both pediatric and adult medicine: Allergy, Autonomic Disorders, Bioinformatics, Cardiology, Dermatology, Developmental Medicine, Endocrinology, Epidemiology, Gastroenterology, Genetics, Gynecology, Hematology, Immunology, Infectious Disease, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Metabolic Disorders, Mitochondrial Disorders, Neonatology, Nephrology, Neuroimmunology, Neurology, Neuro-ophthalmology, Neuropathology, Neuropsychology, Neuroradiology, Obstetrics, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Pathology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pulmonology, Psychiatry, Radiology, Rheumatology, Sleep Disorders, Toxicology, and Vaccinology.
  • Must be a Subject Matter Expert in the field of interest backed by publications, research, and teaching appointments at academic institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical-expert services and medical reviewer/case management support for the VICP and CICP.
  • Prepare written case reviews.
  • Provide expert testimony.
  • Support legal and medical evaluation efforts under the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
  • Work on-demand based on case assignments through Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA).
