About The Position

P10 is seeking a freelance Medical Editor to provide medical editing, copyediting, and fact-checking for digital and print pharmaceutical advertising materials, presentations, and corporate communications. The editor will support the project lifecycle for pharmaceutical advertising, promote editorial consistency and medical, legal, and regulatory compliance, and own alignment for assigned brands. The role reports to the Senior Medical Editor and is open to remote candidates in the United States who can work Pacific time hours.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism, or life sciences.
• At least 3 years of experience editing pharmaceutical promotional materials within an agency environment.
• Knowledge of current AMA style.
• Proactive approach, ability to work independently, and ability to perform literature searches and understand scientific journal articles and medically related literature.
• Ability to work West Coast hours (Pacific time).

Nice To Haves

• Experience with medical, regulatory, and legal reviews and familiarity with FDA requirements for drug promotion.
• Experience anchoring or linking in Veeva.
• Experience working across a range of therapeutic areas and product launches.

Responsibilities

• Edit copy and ensure regulatory compliance for branded and unbranded marketing and promotional materials for healthcare professionals and patients across digital and print channels.
• Fact-check and proof existing copy for adaptation to new channels and audiences.
• Provide medical, regulatory, and legal expertise to ensure consistency and accuracy within FDA guidelines, internal style guidelines, and brand standards.
• Copyedit promotional materials for grammar, punctuation, spelling, style, flow, and consistency.
• Validate references to ensure they are current and meet reference criteria.
• Collaborate with project managers, account managers, designers, copywriters, and other freelance editors as needed.
• Manage alignment for assigned brands and assist other editors as needed.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
