About The Position

Life Line Stem Cell is seeking a Medical Donor Advocate to acquire after-birth tissues for transplant and research. This role is crucial in ensuring the timely transport of donated Cord, Cord Blood, Amniotic Fluid, and Placenta to partner facilities, along with complete and correct documentation. The advocate will represent Life Line Stem Cell professionally in all interactions with physicians, hospital staff, and families, and will be responsible for interviewing expectant mothers, completing consent and medical history forms, and performing other duties as assigned in compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds independently (equipment, shipping boxes) and larger weight with assistance.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Requires transportation to arrive at all assigned facilitates on time.
  • Ability to perform responsibilities acceptable according to the SOPs.

Nice To Haves

  • Some previous work-study in the medical or technical field preferred.
  • Some previous experience with sterile technique and procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire after-birth tissues for transplant and research.
  • Ensure timely transport of donated Cord, Cord Blood, Amniotic Fluid, and Placenta to the partner facility for transplant or research utilization along with complete and correct corresponding documents.
  • Conducts self in a professional manner during all interactions with physicians; hospital staff; and families.
  • Serves as a representative of Life Line Stem Cell (LLSC).
  • Interview expectant mothers, and complete consent and maternal medical social history forms according to requirements.
  • Complete routine reports, and correspondence.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with the current standard operation procedures (SOP), regulations outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (FR) American Association of Tissue Banking (AATB), and other applicable Federal, State, and Local laws.
  • Perform all duties as requested and assigned.
