About The Position

The Medical Doctor is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing and managing patient's pain issues in accordance with the standard of care. This role utilizes a multimodal approach to include medication and interventional management, physical therapy, and bracing where appropriate. The doctor will explain procedures or prescribed treatments to patients along with treatment goals, interpret medical tests, and explain results. Administrative tasks must be completed in a timely manner, and patient compliance to treatment plans will be monitored. Adherence to company policies, quality improvement objectives, and safety standards is expected. Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with health information privacy laws is crucial. The role involves recording complete, timely, and legible medical records, liaising with other medical professionals, and staying updated with medical developments. Promoting the company's core values, coordinating with medical assistants, nurses, and other medical staff, and ensuring equitable treatment for all patients are key responsibilities. Collaboration with the administrative team to optimize clinic functionality and assisting with marketing as needed are also part of the role. Continuous professional development is encouraged through workshops, publications, and professional societies. The doctor will also mentor and train new medical staff and participate in required trainings. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain current licensure as a medical doctor in the state in which services are performed.
  • Must possess and maintain a current DEA license.
  • Medical Degree (MD/DO)
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, including exceptional customer service.
  • Must have a proven track record of providing exceptional customer service.
  • Must be able to establish and effective working relationships with doctors, clinical staff, other co-workers and the public.
  • Must be able to work individually as well as within a team.
  • Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • May be required to possess a current ACLS and BLS certification, depending on regional requirements.
  • If working in the ASC, must provide proof of influenza vaccination annually.
  • If working in the ASC, must complete two (2)-step PPD.
  • Must complete all regulatory competencies prior to beginning work in the ASC.
  • Must be able to effectively oversee, manage and direct a team of clinical and non-clinical professionals.
  • Must have a compassionate nature with the ability to make patients feel at ease.
  • One (1) year of prior experience working in a Pain Management practice.
  • One (1) year of prior experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • One (1) year of experience within an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) or performing in-office procedures.
  • The employee must have reliable transportation.
  • While the primary workplace may be closest to the employee’s home, work assignments could be in any of the Company’s locations.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes a multimodal approach to include but not limited to medication and interventional management, physical therapy and bracing where appropriate.

  • Completes all administrative tasks in a timely manner.
  • Monitors patient's compliance to treatment plan (i.e.: obtaining urine drug screens, where applicable).
  • Adheres to company policies, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
  • Records complete, timely and legible medical records.
  • Liaises with other medical professionals related to patient care.
  • Keeps up to date with medical developments.
  • Promotes the company's core values.
  • Coordinates with medical assistants, nurses and other medical staff.
  • Ensures all personnel and all patients are treated without limitation because of race, creed, sex or national origin.
  • Collaborates with administrative team to optimize the Clinic functionality.
  • Assists with marketing, as needed.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
  • Mentors/trains new medical staff (i.e.: Medical Doctor’s, Mid-Level Providers, etc.), as needed.
  • Checks work e-mail on a regular basis throughout the workday.
  • Participates in and complete all required trainings and in-services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
