About The Position

Under the direction of the Operating Room Charge Nurse performs those tasks directly related to preparing and maintaining anesthesia supplies and the equipment for surgical cases. Assists Anesthesiologist with patient care during procedures. The essential functions listed below are general examples and not a description of comprehensive duties. Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • 0-6 months operating room experience
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
  • Good communication skills with the ability to read, write and understand the English language
  • Ability to work as a valued team member
  • Problem identification and resolution skills
  • Effective organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledgeable about current practice and compliance requirements within job role and specialty.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Basic knowledge of surgical settings/environment

Nice To Haves

  • Anesthesia Technician certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • At the start of shift, responsible for reviewing the daily maintenance of anesthesia supplies and equipment to ensure proper working condition
  • Support Anesthesiologists when requested in Cath Lab, Labor & Delivery, and ER. Ensure anesthesia supplies and equipment are available and in working order in labor and delivery.
  • Evening Tech will support evening crew as well as restock anesthesia carts and prepare OR suites for next day.
  • Responsible for setting up, cleaning and turnover of anesthesia machines and cart to prepare for next procedure. Also responsible for recordkeeping in relation to work completed.
  • Works with Materials Manager and medical supply to insure ordering of all anesthesia supplies and equipment.
  • Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital. C-I-CARE is the foundation of Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley patient-experience and represents a framework for patient-centered interactions.
