About The Position

Serova is developing personalized cancer vaccines, created from individual patient samples and administered in partnership with their treating physician. The company is establishing a new clinic in Bozeman, Montana, to provide patients with access to experimental therapies, including through expanded access programs. The Medical Director will be responsible for the treatment delivered at this clinic and ensuring its safety. While the role is based in Bozeman, the Medical Director does not need to reside there but must be willing to travel to the clinic as needed.

Requirements

• MD or DO, board certified in medical oncology.
• A Montana medical license, or willingness to obtain one before treating patients.
• Investigator experience with immunotherapy or other investigational therapies.
• Up-to-date knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
• Authorization to work in the US.

• Experience with expanded access, single-patient, or cohort studies.
• Experience managing immune-related toxicities.
• Ties to major US cancer centers or strong community oncology relationships.
• Molecular tumor board experience.
• Montana healthcare relationships.

Responsibilities

• Set the clinical model, including criteria for patient review, consent, treatment, and follow-up, in agreement with the regulatory team.
• Oversee all treatment delivered at the clinic, ensuring compliance with Montana's experimental treatment center requirements.
• Serve as the clinic's safety officer, managing safety reporting, escalation procedures, and emergency drills.
• Maintain records of all experimental treatments administered, patient outcomes, and the current FDA status of each product.
• Establish competency standards and training programs for the medical staff.
• Arrange medical cover and establish hospital escalation and transfer agreements.
• Lead case discussions with the scientific team and each patient's treating oncologist.
• Hire the lead nurse and clinical team in collaboration with the head of clinic operations.
