Per Diem Medical Director - Addictions Facility
About The Position
Avenues Recovery Center is seeking a Per Diem Medical Director for their addiction treatment facility. This is a very part-time position focused on oversight and signing off on providers' notes. The role involves following established medical protocols, overseeing medical monitoring and medication management, seeing patients on a sporadic basis for concerns, performing medical interventions, addressing urgent medical needs, documenting care in KIPU EMR, and adhering to treatment timelines. The Medical Director will collaborate with the medical team and the extended treatment team to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements
- Virginia State Board of Medicine licensed physician
- DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances
- Adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality standards
- Knowledge of and compliance with Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs regulations
- Collaborative work with other healthcare professionals
- Continuous professional development through CME
Nice To Haves
- Specialization in addiction medicine preferred
- Experience in SUD treatment settings desired
Responsibilities
- Follow all Avenues' established medical care protocols, working closely with medical team.
- Oversee medical monitoring and medication management for duration of clients' stay in treatment.
- See patients on sporadic basis to address concerns raised by medical team.
- Perform any medical interventions as necessary.
- Address any urgent medical needs so as to enable clients to prioritize recovery.
- Communicate and collaborate with extended treatment team to ensure seamless coordination of care.
- Accurately and comprehensively document all medical care and interventions in KIPU EMR.
- Adhere to all treatment timelines and maintain an efficient appointment schedule.
