About The Position

Elderhaus, a nationally recognized Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) organization serving southeastern North Carolina, is seeking a physician leader to serve as our Medical Director. This is an exceptional opportunity for a mission-driven physician to combine clinical excellence, strategic leadership, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration to help frail older adults remain safely living in their homes and communities. Based primarily in Wilmington, North Carolina, the Medical Director serves as a key member of the leadership team and clinical champion for participant-centered care. The role includes occasional travel to our affiliated New Bern PACE location to provide clinical oversight, collaboration, and support. At Elderhaus, we believe older adults deserve care that honors dignity, independence, and quality of life. Our PACE model integrates medical care, rehabilitation, nursing, transportation, social services, nutrition, and home-based supports into one comprehensive program designed to improve outcomes while reducing unnecessary hospitalizations and institutional care. As a PACE organization, we provide comprehensive, coordinated healthcare and supportive services to medically complex older adults who qualify for nursing home level care but wish to remain living in their communities. Our interdisciplinary model empowers physicians to practice medicine the way it was intended: with time to collaborate, focus on outcomes, and build meaningful relationships with participants, families, and caregivers.
