About The Position

Plum Creek Animal Medical Center is seeking a Medical Director Veterinarian to lead their established veterinary practice. This role involves overseeing an upcoming hospital remodel and offers a pathway toward ownership through a Partner Track program. The practice is a 3-doctor, AAHA-certified hospital with a nearby outpatient clinic, located in Crete, Illinois, a commutable distance from Chicago. The position offers flexible scheduling for work-life balance and opportunities for medical autonomy. The veterinary team provides comprehensive care including wellness, preventive medicine, illness and urgent care, surgery, dentistry, therapeutic laser therapy, in-house diagnostics, digital radiology, ultrasonography, and acupuncture. The incoming Medical Director will help guide the vision for the future clinical environment during the hospital remodel. The limited-service outpatient clinic provides variety and shared medical records and clients.

Requirements

  • Full-time veterinarian - Medical Director.
  • Compassionate, team player and strong communicator.
  • Proficient in general medicine and surgery.
  • Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.
  • Current DEA License or obtained upon hire.
  • Active Veterinary State License.
  • USDA Accreditation or obtained upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an established veterinary practice.
  • Oversee an upcoming veterinary hospital remodel.
  • Practice medicine with medical autonomy.

  • Share medical records and clients across both the main hospital and the limited-service outpatient clinic.
