About The Position

MeadowWood Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Medical Director / Psychiatrist to join their team. This role is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. The position is located at MeadowWood Behavioral Health Hospital, a 130-bed acute care hospital offering a range of services including Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Detox and Substance Use Treatment, Inpatient Treatment, and specialized Adult and Geriatric Programs.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
• One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred.
• Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.
• Board certification in psychiatry
• Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.

Responsibilities

• Providing clinical services to patients at the facility.
• Practicing within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.
• Reviewing medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
• Evaluating patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
• Treating or directing treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
• Reviewing and completing medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner.
• Maintaining confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.
