About The Position

This role is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication. Our passionate team of professionals focuses on individualized treatment. That means working with our patients from our first interaction to understand the issues and triggers that have brought them to Riverwoods and involving them in the creation of treatment plans that create a base for sustaining long-term recovery. RiverWoods Behavioral Health is part of Acadia Healthcare's Comprehensive Treatment Centers, the leading provider of medication-assisted treatment in the nation. Our team provides compassionate, high-quality counseling, therapy, medication, and guidance to patients seeking recovery from Opioid Use Disorder.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) REQUIRED
• Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in psychiatry
• Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working

Nice To Haves

• One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility
• Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures
• Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations
• Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders
• Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications
• Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner
• Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures
