About The Position

The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) is seeking an accomplished and visionary physician leader to serve as Medical Director of Liver Transplant. This high-impact role involves leading a nationally recognized program, guiding clinical excellence, academic growth, and innovative program development. The Medical Director will collaborate with an exceptional multidisciplinary team to shape the future of liver transplantation through outstanding patient care, advanced research, and the training of the next generation of transplant specialists. The position combines administrative, clinical, research, and educational responsibilities. Nebraska Medicine's Liver Failure and Transplant Program, established in 1985, has earned international recognition, a worldwide referral base, and Medicare designation. The program utilizes the latest techniques in living-related, reduced-size, and auxiliary liver transplants, supported by a dedicated transplant anesthesiology team and an experienced multidisciplinary transplant team.

Requirements

  • MD/DO, MD/PhD (or equivalent degree).
  • Board certified/eligible in gastroenterology and transplant hepatology.
  • Board certified in internal medicine.
