About The Position

TeamHealth is seeking an experienced emergency medicine physician leader to serve as medical director at Valencia County Hospital in Los Lunas, New Mexico. The new hospital is scheduled to open in early 2027. The medical director will help build the emergency medicine program from the ground up and lead a team focused on exceptional patient care in a growing community.

The startup emergency department is full-service, with 12 beds and trauma, seclusion, and obstetric capabilities. Estimated annual volume is approximately 13,668 visits. The department will have advanced diagnostic services, including MRI, CT, X-ray, and fluoroscopy. Scheduling is flexible, with 12- and 24-hour shift options at startup.
