About The Position

Kersting Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Small Animal Medical Director with a strong interest in exotic and small-animal veterinary medicine to join its growing, multi-doctor practice in Chesterfield, Missouri. The hospital cares for small animals, avian patients, and exotic companions and provides preventive medicine, surgery, in-house diagnostics, digital full-body and dental radiology, exotic and avian medicine, and boarding services. The role combines clinical medicine, leadership, and mentorship in a collaborative environment, with opportunities for future ownership and partnership. Avian experience is strongly preferred.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
• Active veterinary state license, or ability to obtain one upon hire.
• Current DEA license, or ability to obtain one upon hire.
• USDA accreditation, or ability to obtain it upon hire.
• Proficiency in general medicine and surgery.
• Compassionate, relationship-driven, collaborative approach.
• Confident communication and commitment to exceptional client service.
• Interest in continuing to grow in exotic and avian veterinary medicine.
