Medical Delivery Driver
About The Position
Pick up blood samples and specimens from doctors' offices and clinics and deliver them to laboratories for testing according to the dispatcher's instructions. The driver may also pick up pharmaceuticals and deliver them to nursing homes and clinics. Additional on-demand pickups may fall outside the normal route. Deliveries must be organized in color-coded bags and appropriate coolers to help prevent patients from needing repeat procedures. The role requires flexibility for on-demand routes and availability to fill in as needed. A weekday late-evening route is available Monday through Friday. Weekly settlements depend on the route.
Requirements
- Live in Birmingham, Alabama, or a surrounding area.
- Have a valid driver's license.
- Have a fully functioning smartphone.
- Have a reliable, fuel-efficient vehicle.
- Be able to differentiate colors for coding purposes.
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Be attentive to detail.
- Be self-motivated and a self-starter.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Be flexible for on-demand routes and able to fill in as needed.
