About The Position

MedSpeed is hiring a part-time Logistics Service Representative/Medical Driver in Steubenville, Ohio. The role pays $15.00 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. MedSpeed is a healthcare logistics company that transports medical supplies and specimens for healthcare organizations. The position involves driving a company-owned vehicle to transport medical materials and supporting safe, accurate, and professional service for clients. Training is provided through MedSpeed’s Blue Shirt Certified program. Route duties and assignments may vary according to client and business needs, and drivers must be able to perform duties across assigned routes. Candidates who receive an offer must complete a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review. Results are evaluated in accordance with company policy and applicable laws. Depending on location and local mandates, proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required.

Requirements

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver’s license for at least 3 years.
Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
Familiarity with technology and ability to adapt to it.
Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
Excellent driving history.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination depending on location and local mandates.
Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, lift items off storage racks, walk long distances, and stand for long periods.
Ability to handle varying item weights and physical demands even when pickup and drop-off responsibilities or routes are inconsistent.

Responsibilities

Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
Use a handheld scanning device to track items accurately throughout the transportation cycle.
Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interactions.
Load and unload company vehicles using appropriate equipment.
Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
Perform duties across assigned routes as route assignments and client needs change.
Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
Help build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
