Medical Delivery Driver M-F 1:45PM - 10:15PM
About The Position
MedSpeed is hiring a full-time Medical Driver in Concord, California. The position pays $20.00–$22.50 per hour and follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 1:45 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. Drivers use a company vehicle to transport medical specimens, supplies, records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, interoffice mail, and related materials. Duties vary according to client and business needs, and drivers may be assigned to different routes. MedSpeed provides training through its Blue Shirt Certified program and emphasizes teamwork, integrity, customer service, and safe, dependable delivery.
Requirements
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- At least 19 years of age and an active driver’s license held for at least 3 years.
- Dependability and reliability.
- Familiarity with technology and ability to adapt to it.
- Ability to follow procedures closely.
- Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
- Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
- Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent driving history.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, depending on location and local mandates.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, lift items off storage racks, walk long distances, and stand for long periods.
- Ability to handle varying item weights and physical demands even when pickup and drop-off responsibilities or routes vary.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
- Use a hand-held scanning device to track items throughout the transportation cycle.
- Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
- Present a professional image when interacting with clients and the public.
- Load and unload company vehicles using appropriate equipment.
- Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
- Perform duties across assigned routes as needed; route assignments may change based on client and business needs.
- Work cooperatively and adaptively with teammates and clients, and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
