About The Position

MedSpeed is hiring a full-time Medical Delivery Driver in Silver Spring for $18.40 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, and the role involves long-distance driving throughout the DMV area. Most of the workday is spent driving a company-owned vehicle to transport medical supplies and materials, including lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related items. The driver uses a handheld scanning device to track items through the transportation cycle and follows operating policies, procedures, and service schedules. Route responsibilities and assignments may vary according to client and business needs, and drivers must be able to perform duties across assigned routes. Requirements

Must be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver’s license for 3 years.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
Familiarity with and ability to adapt to technology.
Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
Excellent driving history.

Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including lifting items off storage racks.
Comfort walking long distances and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
Use a handheld scanning device to accurately track items through the transportation cycle.
Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interactions.
Load and unload company vehicles using appropriate equipment.
Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
Perform duties across assigned routes as required; route responsibilities and assignments may change based on client and business needs.
Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
Contribute to a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
