About The Position

MedSpeed is hiring a full-time Logistics Service Representative/Medical Driver in Fairfax. The role pays $18.00 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 5:00 PM to 1:30 AM. Candidates should have initial flexibility to start or end their day up to one hour earlier or later than the posted times. The position involves long-distance driving throughout the DMV area, with most of the workday spent in a company-owned vehicle transporting medical and related materials. Routes and duties vary based on client and business needs, and assignments may change over time.

Requirements

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver’s license for at least three years.
• Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
• Familiarity working with and adapting to technology.
• Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
• Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
• Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
• Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent driving history.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination if required by location and local mandates.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including lifting items off storage racks.
• Ability to handle varying item weights and physical demands even when pickup and drop-off responsibilities or routes vary.
• Comfort walking long distances and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
• Use a handheld scanning device to accurately track items through the transportation cycle.
• Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
• Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interaction.
• Load and unload company vehicles using appropriate equipment.
• Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
• Perform duties across assigned routes, adapting to route changes and varying client and business needs.
• Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
• Help build and maintain a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
