About The Position

MedSpeed is hiring a full-time Logistics Service Representative/Medical Driver in Fairfax. The role involves long-distance driving throughout the DMV area, primarily in a company-owned vehicle, transporting lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:00 PM to 1:30 AM, with initial flexibility to start or end up to an hour before or after the posted times. Drivers may be assigned to different routes as client and business needs change and must be able to perform duties across assigned routes.

The driver uses a handheld scanning device to track transported items, follows operating policies and service schedules, loads and unloads vehicles, and conducts vehicle inspections. The role requires safe and courteous driving, professional interactions with clients and the public, and teamwork and adaptability. Physical tasks include lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds, lifting items from storage racks, walking long distances, and standing for extended periods.

Candidates must meet the stated age and driving-history requirements, be dependable, follow procedures, adapt to technology, and be able to determine efficient routes between multiple points. Employment is conditional on completing a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required depending on location and local mandates.

Requirements

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• At least 19 years of age and an active driver’s license held for at least 3 years.
• Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
• Familiarity with and ability to adapt to technology.
• Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
• Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
• Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
• Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent driving history.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and lift items from storage racks.
• Comfort walking long distances and standing for long periods.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities
