Medical Courier-PRN (On-call)
About The Position
Medical Couriers are responsible for the transportation of medical items to/from labs, hospitals, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or the on-campus transportation of UMC guests. This role involves daily assignments that may include transporting labs, deposits, mail, supplies, equipment, linens, medications, and paperwork to and from the hospital, local labs, or any other partnering facilities. Additionally, the courier may drive the UMC campus shuttle or golf cart, transporting patients, employees, or visitors across campus. Responsibilities also include logging vehicle mileage and maintenance information.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving record
- Effective written and verbal communication
- The ability to drive a commercial vehicle safely
- Able to handle physical exertion and movement
Responsibilities
- Responsible for transporting labs, deposits, mail, supplies, equipment, linens, medications, and paperwork to and from the hospital, local labs, or any other partnering facilities
- Driving the UMC campus shuttle, or golf cart, and transporting patients, employees or visitors from one site on the campus, to another site on campus
- Logging vehicle mileage and maintenance information in the company logbook
- All other assigned duties related to UMC Courier
