About The Position

Rapid Medical is seeking a reliable Medical Courier (1099) for a specific route between Sycamore and Rockford. This is a tech-forward logistics role focused on supporting labs, clinics, and health systems. The route is approximately 42 miles and runs Monday through Sunday from 9:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Contractors located within 15 miles of the start point, end point, or along the route are encouraged to apply. The role involves using a driver app for navigation, scheduling, and support, handling specimens with care, and maintaining proper temperature conditions.

Requirements

• Personal vehicle (2016+ preferred)
• Valid driver's license
• Active vehicle insurance
• Satisfactory driving record (MVR)
• Smartphone (iOS 13+/Android 11+) with reliable data
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs
• Must be 21+ years old
• Satisfactory background check
• Satisfactory MVR review

Nice To Haves

• Delivery, rideshare, or courier experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Run stops using the driver app, which includes navigation, scheduling, and real-time support.
• Photograph pickups/deliveries and log proof of delivery through the app.
• Handle specimens carefully and maintain proper temperature (room, refrigerated, or frozen as required).
• Contact dispatch immediately if any issues arise with pickups/deliveries, such as damage, improper packaging, or anything appearing "off."
