About The Position

York General is hiring a full-time Medical Coder for its Health Information Management team. This on-site role offers an opportunity for an experienced coder or a recent coding/billing program graduate to work in a supportive, collaborative environment. The position requires working on-site for at least the first six months, with potential for occasional remote work thereafter depending on skill level. A sign-on bonus is offered for experienced coders.

Requirements

At least 1 year of relevant outpatient ICD-10 and CPT coding experience, or recent graduation from a coding/billing program; the employer is willing to train the right candidate.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to teamwork.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to work on-site for at least the first six months; occasional remote work may be possible afterward depending on skill level.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of E/M levels, injections and infusions, inpatient and outpatient coding, and method 2 clinic coding and billing.
CCA or CCS credential preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Review outpatient and/or inpatient records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Assign appropriate ICD-10 diagnosis and CPT procedure codes in accordance with current standards.
Collaborate with medical staff and other departments to resolve coding questions.
Enter coding data accurately and efficiently into encoder and hospital information systems.
