Requirements

Must be credentialed (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent).
Demonstrate knowledge of VA-specific coding requirements.
Maintain an overall coding accuracy of 95% or above across all record types.

Responsibilities

Provide accurate and complete medical coding services in accordance with VA guidelines, ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards.
Maintain an overall coding accuracy rate of 95% or above.
Index Administrative documents at a rate of 15 per hour.
Index NVCC/Fee (Non-VA Care) documents at a rate of 10 per hour.
Perform 100% self-QA on all indexed records.
Code Observation – non-billable records at a rate of 4 per day.
Code Observation – Billable records at a rate of 3 per day.
Code Inpatient – Billable records at a rate of 3 per day.
Code Inpatient – non-billable records at a rate of 5 per day.
Code Outpatient / Recurring / Pro Fees at a rate of 30 per day.
Code Surgery at a rate of 7 per day.
Code Prosthetics at a rate of 30 per day.
Ensure all coding complies with current Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.
Code all diagnoses and procedures to the highest degree of specificity.
Complete queries to providers in a timely and compliant manner when required.
