About The Position

South Texas Vo-Tech, part of Ancora Education, is seeking an instructor to deliver educational materials using sound educational practices that support students’ academic development. The instructor uses instruction to build students’ knowledge and skills in their chosen field and help them achieve educational and career goals. The role promotes an engaging, dynamic, student-centered learning environment and provides support, tutoring, and other assistance as needed. Instructors model professional behavior and ethical conduct in keeping with Ancora Education’s mission and core values.

The instructor uses classroom and lab instruction, student assessment, and classroom management to provide an engaged educational experience. They ensure students receive the material needed to meet course learning objectives, keep instructional materials and equipment ready and maintained, participate in faculty assessment and professional development, and maintain required certification or licensure. The role also includes participation in meetings, analysis of assessment data, report preparation, meeting academic and administrative deadlines, and compliance with applicable government, regulatory, and company requirements.

Requirements

• Hold active certification or licensure where required.
• Have at least 3 years of industry experience within the last 10 years.
• Before beginning to teach, have documented prior teaching experience or complete the new instructor training.
• Be able to qualify as an instructor under institutional and accreditation standards.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience teaching in a proprietary education setting.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and accreditation regulations applicable to the proprietary education industry.

Responsibilities

• Use classroom and lab instruction, student assessment mechanisms, and classroom management techniques to provide an engaging educational experience.
• Ensure students are presented with the material needed to meet the learning objectives of each course in their program of study.
• Ensure instructional materials and equipment are ready for student use, sufficient in quantity, properly maintained, and in working order.
• Participate in ongoing faculty assessment and professional development to support an active, engaged, and up-to-date classroom experience.
• Maintain required certification and licensure.
• Participate in meetings, review and analyze assessment data, compile reports, and meet academic and administrative deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory guidelines, as well as company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
