The mission of the Louisiana Department of Health is to protect and promote health and to ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services for all residents of the State of Louisiana. This position is part of the OAAS training team. Routine statewide travel is required in order to perform training duties and deliver presentations relative to all OAAS Long Term Care programs that serve the elderly and persons with adult-onset disabilities. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to facilitate effective training in classroom and large audience settings; knowledge in adult learning principles; possess analytical thinking and problem solving skills; and be well organized. The position also requires ability to engage and develop a rapport with others, while also thinking in a disciplined and systematic fashion since a primary focus of the training team is the use and coding of a standardized assessment and care-planning tool used in multiple OAAS programs. The candidate must be/or become certified in the use of the assessment tool and in person-centered care planning principles.
