Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze billing information and resolve problems independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information with professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in medical billing, healthcare revenue cycle, insurance claims processing, accounts receivable, or medical office operations preferred.
  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) and computerized billing systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process insurance claims and billing activities accurately and timely.
  • Review and submit claims while identifying and resolving billing issues.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances according to established procedures.
  • Research claim denials and work with insurance companies to resolve payment issues.
  • Prepare documentation for appeals and reimbursement requests.
  • Maintain accurate financial and billing records within the electronic medical record (EMR) and billing systems.
  • Communicate with internal departments and external payers to ensure timely claim resolution.
  • Assist with departmental reporting, audits, and quality improvement activities.
  • Participate in team meetings and support department initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
