Medical Billing Specialist - Taylorsville - Full-Time
About The Position
Granger Medical Clinic has an immediate opening for a Medical Billing Specialist in our amazing Revenue Cycle Management Department where your medical billing expertise and knowledge will be fully utilized. Granger Medical is a great place to work and offers an excellent benefit package. We also offer flexible schedules including the ability to work four ten-hour shifts and the ability to work remote after 3 months if job expectations are met. The Accounts Receivable Team is responsible for analyzing and researching claims to identify issues and ensure the appropriate resolution.
Requirements
- Two years medical billing experience with thorough knowledge of the entire billing process required
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and mathematical abilities
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Effective verbal and written communication and human relation skills required
- Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position requirements
Responsibilities
- Resolves various billing edits and denials within established timelines
- Identifies trends and issues and communicates their recommendation for resolution to the supervisor/manager
- Follow-up (phone, e-mail, payer websites, and regular mail) with insurance companies regarding claim status and payment
- Writes appeal letters using the established insurance guidelines to resolve collection barriers
- Respond to written and email correspondence within established timelines
- Reports departmental issues and concerns to supervisor
- Utilizes systems, various documents and reports to identify and correct errors accurately and within established timeframes
- Contacts insurance companies, third party payers, banks, attorneys or individuals (by phone, e-mail, payer websites and regular mail) for resolution of accounts accurately and within established timeframes
- Meets productivity and accuracy expectations of the position
