About The Position

Sonic Healthcare USA, a Great Place to Work certified employer, is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist focused on Denials. Remote work is an option after 6 months in the office, with weekly office work still required if remote. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with an hourly rate of $18.00 - $24.00/hr.

Requirements

HS Diploma or Medical Billing Certification from an accredited school
1-2 years of billing and insurance knowledge
Knowledge of ICD10, CPT and HCPCS codes
Medical terminology
1-2 years of A/R follow up and denials
Knowledge of Excel
Basic understanding of medical billing compliance

Responsibilities

Work and resolve front end errors and payer rejections in Clearinghouse
Collect reimbursements for services rendered by reviewing insurance carriers reject reports, EOB’s and or correspondence
Use established protocols to contact providers and clients to resolve discrepancies in processed, partially paid and unpaid claims with timely appropriate follow up action
Review and adjust claims as needed and process refund and Medical record requests from mail received by the insurance companies
