Vancouver Clinic is hiring a Medical Billing Representative-Insurance Follow Up for its Patient Financial Services team. The role focuses on following up on outstanding insurance claims with no payer response, claim edits, and claim form denials, while helping maintain accounts receivable at acceptable aging levels through prompt follow-up on unpaid and denied claims. The representative answers billing-related phone inquiries; reviews credit balances for possible refunds; processes insurance correspondence and explanations of benefits; and submits claims, denials, and rebills accurately and on time. The role also involves correcting patient accounts to support clean claim submission, maintaining work queues, communicating with insurance companies about claim follow-up, and updating insurance information. The successful candidate supports patients and payers professionally and accurately and has a strong working knowledge of health insurance plans, policies, and procedures. The position is based at The VIC in Vancouver, Washington, with a Monday-through-Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Remote work may be available after successful completion of on-site training and meeting off-site work requirements. Employees working off-site must live in the local Vancouver, Washington, or Portland, Oregon, area and have a secure home network with minimum speeds of 5 Mbps upload and 25 Mbps download. The position may also require maintaining an activated smartphone capable of receiving text messages and/or using required apps for multi-factor authentication. The Clinic serves patients considering or seeking care across a wide range of medical decisions, including vaccinations, reproductive health, end-of-life decision-making, and gender-affirming treatment. Working with a diverse population of patients and colleagues, with or without reasonable accommodation, is an essential function of all Clinic positions.
