Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of government billing regulations including Medicare and Medicaid regulations and serves as a resource for appropriate organization personnel
  • Responsible for managing accurate, timely completion and submission of all the billing, collections, and accounts receivable functions of the organization.
  • Directs and manages all personnel to ensure that goals established for the Billing are met consistently.
  • Ensures reimbursement through efficient billing and collections operations and effective accounts receivable management.
  • Ensures that billing and patient account record systems are maintained in accordance with accepted accounting principles and in compliance with state, federal, and regulations
  • Demonstrates flexibility and creativity in the operation of the radiology office and interaction among ordering facilities, Radiologists, patients, and employees, while operating department in a fiscally responsible manner.
  • Facilitates and assures top quality communication among patients, doctors, and employees.
  • Maintains deadlines, prioritizes company assignments, and maintains professional composure under pressure and dynamic conditions.
  • Leads conflict resolution and maintains a constructive working relationship with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Fosters a workplace consistent with the values and vision of the company.
  • Investigates and corrects customer service issues or complaints related to the billing process.
  • Responsible for insurance, technician, and physician credentialing.
  • Oversees and manages all billing systems related to billing and payment procedures and communicates with computer vendors regarding software/hardware issues.
  • Ensures all bills pursuant to the billing cycle are mailed in accordance with practice guidelines.
  • Reviews and approves department timekeeping records.
  • Resolves issues in a real-time environment; to proactively prevent issues that impact facility or physician satisfaction
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Directly manages Billing employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Provides guidance and direction to personnel to assist them in their professional development.
  • Develop and maintain an effective department through the selection, training, compensation, motivation and review of Billing personnel.
  • Discuss job performance problems with employees to identify causes and issues and work on resolving them.
  • Implement departmental policies, procedures, and service standards in conjunction with management.
  • Manage the Billing department to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors, or problems.
  • Review records and reports pertaining to activities such as production, payroll, to verify details, monitor work activities, and evaluate performance.
