About The Position

The Medical Billing Manager at Polaris Pharmacy Services is responsible for overseeing the entire billing process, ensuring efficient charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, and appeals management. The role requires a deep understanding of healthcare billing, payer guidelines, and compliance standards to optimize revenue cycle operations and support the financial health of the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle management
  • Proven track record of overseeing billing processes, including charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, and appeals
  • Experience in analyzing claim rejections and accounts receivable aging's
  • Previous experience in supervising, training, and mentoring billing specialists
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and payer guidelines
  • Strong understanding and adherence to HIPAA and coding standards
  • Excellent analytical skills to evaluate billing processes and identify areas for improvement
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills
  • Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record systems
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment

  • A bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, finance, or business is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the billing process, including charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, and appeals, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze claim rejections and accounts receivable aging's to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor billing specialists to enhance team performance and professional development.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer guidelines, ensuring adherence to HIPAA and coding standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline billing operations and improve overall efficiency.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance billing operations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare regular reports on billing activities and performance metrics for management review.
