About The Position

The Medical Billing & Coding Instructor delivers educational materials using sound educational practices to support students’ academic development and help them achieve their educational and career goals. Instructors use the educational experience to develop students’ knowledge and skills in their chosen field and foster an engaging, dynamic, student-centered learning environment. They also provide support, tutoring, and other assistance as needed, and model professional behavior centered on ethical conduct and Ancora Education’s mission and core values.

The role includes classroom and lab instruction, student assessment, classroom management, preparation and maintenance of instructional materials and equipment, participation in faculty assessment and professional development, and compliance with applicable regulations and company policies. Instructors must maintain required certification or licensure and meet institutional and accreditation standards.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of industry experience.
• An active certification or licensure where required.
• Before beginning to teach, documented prior teaching experience or completion of new instructor training.
• Ability to qualify as an instructor under institutional and accreditation standards.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience teaching in a proprietary education setting.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and accreditation regulations applicable to the proprietary education industry.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom and lab instruction, assess students, and use classroom management techniques to provide an engaged educational experience.
• Ensure students are presented with the material needed to meet the learning objectives of each course in their program of study.
• Ensure instructional materials and equipment are ready for student use, adequate in quantity, properly maintained, and in working order.
• Participate in faculty assessment and professional development activities, and maintain required certification and licensure.
• Participate in meetings, review and analyze assessment data, compile reports, and meet academic and administrative deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory guidelines, as well as company policies.
• Provide student support, tutoring, and other assistance as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
