About The Position
A leading risk management agency is hiring a Medical Bill Reviewer to work with a team and healthcare professionals. This full-time, temporary role is based in Rocklin, California, and follows a hybrid schedule. The position reviews workers’ compensation medical bills to determine reimbursement, pricing, and processing of reconsideration requests. Compensation is $26.00–$28.00 per hour, with weekly pay. The company offers hands-on training and support from a dedicated, tenured team.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of workers’ compensation bill review experience.
- High school diploma.
- Medical Bill Reviewer designation, including 40-hour initial certification and 16 hours of continuing education every two years.
- Knowledge of codes and audits of workers’ compensation medical bills.
Responsibilities
- Review medical bills to determine reimbursements and bill pricing, and process reconsideration requests.
- Use ICD-10 and CPT codes and ensure they are accurate.
- Identify overcharges, duplicate billings, and other billing errors.
- Communicate with healthcare professionals to obtain missing documentation or confirm charges.
- Document paperwork properly and obtain all necessary billing information.
