About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinical teams in a hospital setting. This role involves direct patient care, clinical procedures, and administrative/EMR support in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of Medical Assistant certification program required
- BLS certification (AHA required)
Nice To Haves
- Certified Medical Assistant preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and EMR systems preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform patient care tasks such as venipuncture, EKGs, vital signs, and specimen collection
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure proper sterilization and infection control
- Manage patient flow, scheduling, and rooming of patients
- Enter orders, refill requests, and documentation in EMR system
- Maintain patient medical records, reports, and charts
- Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing when required
- Handle appointment scheduling, registration, and insurance updates
- Verify pre-authorizations and insurance details as needed
- Maintain medical supply inventory and restocking
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, safety, and hospital protocols
- Perform additional duties as assigned
