About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care and clinical operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have strong patient care experience, excellent communication skills, and hands-on clinical experience including blood pressure checks, EKGs, and phlebotomy.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an approved Medical Assistant program
- BLS Certification (AHA required)
- Experience with BP checks, EKGs, and Phlebotomy required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of EMR systems and medical terminology preferred
Nice To Haves
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform patient care duties including vital signs, EKGs, specimen collection, and phlebotomy
- Assist physicians with exams and procedures
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain sterilization standards
- Enter orders and update patient records within EMR systems
- Schedule appointments and assist with patient registration
- Manage patient charts, referrals, lab reports, and medical records
- Maintain inventory and restock medical supplies
- Verify and update insurance information as needed
- Follow HIPAA, infection control, and safety guidelines
- Provide excellent communication and support to patients and families
