About The Position

Missouri Ozarks Community Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join its nursing team in Ava and float to other clinic locations as needed. The Medical Assistant works directly with a medical provider to support routine patient care and perform a variety of medical procedures. The position offers the option of a four- or five-day work week. Candidates must be able to travel to other clinic locations and meet strict hygiene standards.

Requirements

Ability to travel to other clinic locations.
Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with fellow healthcare providers.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Current CPR (BLS) certification.
Must pass a drug/alcohol screening before employment begins.

Nice To Haves

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
Current Medical Assistant Certificate.

Responsibilities

Place patients in exam rooms and record vital signs, current complaints, and pertinent history.
Assist medical providers with patient treatment and specialized procedures.
Provide patient education and applicable preventative services.
Maintain the confidentiality of records and patient information.
Document patient contacts, triage phone calls for minor health problems, and refer complicated illnesses to medical providers.
Perform in-house CLIA-waived laboratory tests according to protocols.
Log laboratory testing, review and acknowledge outside laboratory results when received, and refer abnormal results to the appropriate provider.
Administer medications according to provider orders and medication administration protocols.
Assist providers with outreach activities as directed.
