About The Position

Missouri Ozarks Community Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join its nursing team in Ava and float between other clinic locations as needed. The Medical Assistant works directly with a medical provider to support routine patient care and perform a variety of medical procedures. Candidates must be able to travel to other clinic locations and meet strict hygiene standards. The role offers the option of a four- or five-day work week.

Requirements

Current licensure is required.
Strong knowledge of medical procedures and ability to meet strict hygiene standards.
Ability to travel to other clinic locations.
Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with fellow healthcare providers.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Current CPR (BLS) certification.
Must pass a drug/alcohol screening before employment begins.

Nice To Haves

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
Current Medical Assistant Certificate is preferred.

Responsibilities

Place patients in exam rooms and record vital signs, current complaints, and pertinent history.
Assist medical providers with patient treatment and specialized procedures.
Provide patient education and applicable preventive services.
Maintain confidentiality of all records and patient information.
Document patient contacts, triage phone calls about minor health problems, and refer complicated illnesses to medical providers.
Perform in-house, CLIA-waived laboratory tests according to protocols.
Log laboratory testing, review results from outside laboratories, confirm receipt, and refer abnormal results to the appropriate provider.
Administer medications according to provider orders and medication administration protocols.
Assist providers with outreach activities as directed.
