About The Position

Gastro One is the largest and most experienced gastroenterology group in the Mid-South, providing personalized, compassionate care for digestive diseases through hospitals, outpatient surgery clinics, and advanced endoscopy centers. The Medical Assistant/Recovery Room Tech supports clinical operations and patient care by turning over rooms and coordinating clinical duties as assigned by an RN. The role also helps maintain confidential medical records, a safe and healthy work environment, adequate supplies, and functioning equipment, while adhering to professional standards and applicable policies and regulations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
BLS required.

Nice To Haves

Graduate of an accredited CMA, PCT, or CNA program preferred.

Responsibilities

Turn over rooms.
Coordinate clinical duties as assigned by an RN.
Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records and keeping information confidential.
Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
Maintain supplies by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
Keep equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
Update job knowledge through educational opportunities and professional publications.
Adhere to professional standards, policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements.
