About The Position
Hawai‘i Island Community Health Center (HICHC) is expanding and seeking passionate, motivated Medical Assistants to join their growing team. This role is vital to the care team, supporting providers, connecting with patients, and delivering high-quality, compassionate care to the community. Training is provided for those new to healthcare who are eager to learn and make a difference.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- 6 months of related experience (or equivalent training)
Nice To Haves
- Training or certification (e.g., Nurse Aide/Assistant)
Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, health histories, and vital signs
- Assist with exams, minor procedures, and treatments
- Administer medications and immunizations
- Conduct basic lab tests and collect specimens
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain supplies
- Support patient education, scheduling, and follow-ups
- Help create a welcoming and efficient care environment
