About The Position
We are currently seeking a full-time certified/registered Medical Assistant. Must be CMA or RMA certified through AAMA or AMT respectively. The ideal candidate will have experience working as a Medical Assistant in a mid-to large-sized medical practice, preferably orthopedics. At OrthoFast, Medical Assistants are responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to the urgent care physicians and physician assistants during office call.
Requirements
- Must be CMA or RMA certified through AAMA or AMT respectively
- Must have current certification or registration
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Reliable transportation to commute to our Fairfield, Milford, Shelton, and Monroe locations
- Must have night and weekend availability. One night a week, and two Saturdays a month.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working as a Medical Assistant in a mid-to large-sized medical practice, preferably orthopedics
- Working knowledge of insurances
- Ability to provide excellent patient customer service
- Ability to assist with a broad spectrum of patients
- Bilingual candidates a plus
Responsibilities
- Prepares the patient for exam, obtains history and proper imaging
- Assists with in-office procedures
- Splinting and casting application and removal
- Communicates with MD and PA regarding patient care
- Obtains patient clinical information through our electronic medical record system
- Accurately fits patients with Durable Medical Equipment
- Draws injections, as directed by providers
- Facilitates outside services for patient (i.e., Physical Therapy, Radiology)
- Ensures that exam rooms are properly stocked and maintained
