About The Position

The Certified Athletic Trainer - OrthoFast position requires the candidate to multi-task and provide excellent patient services. The role involves preparing patients for exams, assisting with in-office procedures, applying and removing splints and casts, communicating with medical providers, documenting patient information in the electronic medical record system, fitting patients with Durable Medical Equipment, drawing injections as directed, facilitating outside services for patients, and ensuring exam rooms are stocked and maintained.

Requirements

Must have current NATA certification
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality is a must
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the general public.
Computer skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Electronic Medical Records
Candidates will be courteous, articulate and reliable, and must be able to multi-task in a busy, professional, fast-moving environment while maintaining excellent customer service.

Nice To Haves

Two to five years as an ATC, preferably within an Orthopaedic practice is preferred.
Communication skills are essential as this position interacts with practice providers, management team and staff members.
Willingness to travel to several clinics on a weekly/daily basis is a must.

Responsibilities

Prepares the patient for exam, obtains history and proper imaging
Assists with in-office procedures
Splinting and casting application and removal
Communicates with MD and PA regarding patient care
Obtains patient clinical information through our electronic medical record system
Accurately fits patients with Durable Medical Equipment
Draws injections, as directed by providers
Facilitates outside services for patient (i.e., Physical Therapy, Radiology)
Ensures that exam rooms are properly stocked and maintained
