About The Position

Bay Area Foot Care is a podiatry practice with 15 locations across the East Bay, North Bay, San Francisco, and Peninsula. The Medical Assistant works with physicians and other practice team members to perform clinical and administrative duties, meet patient needs, and support smooth patient flow.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current American Heart Association CPR certification.
• Certification from an approved medical assistant program or an equivalent combination of training.
• Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.
• Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of basic medical procedures, such as dressing a wound.
• Strong communication skills and ability to actively listen.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Strong organizational and clerical skills to maintain patient files and perform office duties.
• Customer service skills.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures.

Nice To Haves

• EMR experience; Athena experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients by phone and in person.
• Place patients in exam rooms.
• Take patients’ vital signs.
• Assist with and set up examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient files.
• Apply dressings, bandages, and splints as ordered by the podiatrist.
• Maintain a sanitized and safe working environment.
• Maintain HIPAA requirements.
