About The Position
The Medical Assistant I maintains department patient care supplies, ensures timely flow of patients, and assists physicians and nurses to provide optimal care to patients and families. Responsibilities include performing a variety of routine direct patient care duties to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients. This role also involves maintaining the patient care environment and supplies to ensure patient privacy and safety, rooming patients, medication reconciliation of dermatology and over-the-counter medications, chart preparation, cleaning and stocking of exam rooms, and cleaning, packaging, and sterilizing of instruments.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
- H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of routine direct patient care duties to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.
- Maintains patient care environment and supplies to ensure patient privacy and safety.
- Rooming patients.
- Medication reconciliation of dermatology medications and over-the-counter medications.
- Chart preparation.
- Cleaning and stocking of exam rooms.
- Cleaning, packaging, and sterilizing of instruments.
